About me, that I would never write on facebook's
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Nothing. Concentrating on what I'm doing.
Topic: Life

Although this record keeping blog is for my persy intents and purposes, to remind myself of things, etc, if you happen to find yourself here, welcome.

"About Me" that I would never write in the facebook section of "About Me"

Homogenous mixture of Mexican and American culture. Knowledgable in both. Lived in Torreon, Coahuila first 12 years of my life. Raised Catholic, attended a Jesuit school up until 6th grade. Moved to Madison thereafter, attended Velma Hamilton middle school, and graduated from Madison West high school, all excellent institutions. Got accepted into UW-Madison, finished my first year there, started a 3rd semester but for many reasons took a year off, and found what I didn't have-direction in life.

Not afraid of commitment. In the past (Feb-June 2007) I've smiled upon the thought of settling down and starting a life with a girlfriend if The Creator called for it. She was 24, UW graduate. Seeing as how we're both intelligent and capable people, I wouldn't by any means say the thought of it was foolish, immature, or anything like that. But that didn't happen.

Honestly, I'm faithful, loyal, respectful, one to take responsibility for my actions.

No drama, carry-on sized baggage, no inferiority complexes that will lead to jealousy, insecurity, etc. Not violent. Not clingy.

Stylish, never/seldom trendy.

I'm an artist. I paint, I draw, I play some guitar and some piano. I write, mostly to do some deep thinking and remember thoughts, memories and dreams.

Very healthy family history and/or gene pool on both sides.

My abuelita's got my back for most intents and purpose$ until I become independent.

Been there, done that, learned by trial and error, and grew out of it. Unhealthy self-consciousness, insecurity, smoking, low-mild depression. Not really a drinker. No obsession, or any desire for that matter, to watch sports on tv.

Very patient. Knowledgable, well read. Always on the learn, not so much about superficial politics, or about trends, or about celebrity lives. More about enlightenment, religions, psychology, health, the mind, the body, the soul, life, death, conspiracies, best methods and tips to do things, self actualization, to name some off the top of my head.

Not materialistic. Although I do appreciate the finer things in life, making lots of money or having toys is not my purpose. If they come while doing what I like to do best the best I can, then good. But as a teacher, I feel my purpose is to influence teens in the way they see school. Be the cool teacher that lets his students know if anyone ever needs to talk to someone, that's me. Change their view of school as a tedious thing to just go through, to them thinking of it as more of a pleasant and useful tool meant to teach them how to think for themselves. Using methods ranging from the simple 'fill noun/verb/adjective in the blank in the proper tense' to readings about inspirational things, I plan to plant a positive seed in the thought patterns of as many of my students as possible. I want to be the person that teaches them what I wasn't taught, gives the advice I wasn't given, listens objectively to any personal thing a student may be going through or being troubled by, and points them in the right direction. I feel that is my call in life. And I feel and believe I can do it best by being a teacher, in my case a Spanish and English teacher.

Because of all this, I believe I would make a great dad when the time comes. After taking the "family, marriage and intimate relationships"  class [I kept the book to have it as reference and keep learning from it], I was very much influenced to, in order to be the best parent I can be, learn and know as many things as possible about behavior, social patterns/trends, things to do, things to avoid, nutrition, reward and punishment, etc.
I arrived at an enlightening realization- the best kind of parent is one who is a parent/guide and a friend at the same time. Most important realization that many parents never arrive at. I look forward to learning as much from my son/daughter as he/she'll learn from me. Not hammering my beliefs into hir, but more like guiding hir in life as an unconditional friend who's always looking out for hir and wants the best for hir. Asking hir what he/she thinks he/she should do, why, why not, how does he/she feel about that decision, etc. [hir=him or her]

Some long term goals, starting summer '08, if The Creator wills:

Get back into the habit of working out, and get in good shape. Learn more about effective methods, routines, what works, what to avoid.

Hand in hand with getting in good shape,  goes eating healthy. Get into habit of drinking water and milk only, eat fruits and vegetables daily, learning to cook healthy meals.

Learning a new word per day. The more one knows, the more free one is. The more words and definitions learned, the more one can express, and better.

Learn to be funny-er. Different humor styles, learn a joke a day, watch stand up comedy, read strategies, etc.

Get into habit of sleeping 8 hours a day. That's only as important as your health.

Learn the art of lucid dreaming. And of the law of attraction/power of positive thinking/feeling/visualizing/harmony.

Watch popular movies, dubbed in french, with french subtitles, repeat after the characters, keep learning french and learn the accent as well as possible.

Incorporate knowledge through conditioning, using notecards, tapes while driving, reading, repeating, visualizing and feeling, etc.

Become more organized. Use time more effectively, make a daily schedule or checklist of things to do. Do everything as soon as possible, in order to really have FREE time with no worries.

Learn to meditate effectively. Learn about chakras, yoga, spiritualism, and all that good stuff.

Last [for now] but not least, learn to dance Cool As many styles as possible, but definitely pop & lock and the C walk, they look so fly/lucid. (In a lucid dream, you have control, and you can even fly. Being lucid, and flying, are by definition, coolCool)
